RevSportz turns four in a week, and yes, we will make a major announcement on our foundation day. That said, it is also time to reflect on the journey so far over the next few days. A company that started as a dream has now taken strong strides and can claim to have made a real impact in the sports media domain. We are now a team of 50-plus—yes, over 50—and I finally have a team capable of taking care of programming in my absence or when I am traveling. In each of the three languages—Hindi, Bengali, and English—we have dedicated reporters who are extremely good at their work. To be here in just four years is an excellent place to be.
From negotiating a personal ban that could have impacted the company’s fortunes to breaking new ground in coverage, RevSportz has come a long way. Having said that, some things will never change. It will always remain a platform for journalists and by journalists. The pulse of the organisation is driven by a good story, not just ROI. Money matters, yes, but passion for multi-sport is just as important—far more than mere numbers. Giving young people opportunities to cover multiple sports and break new ground will always be a core mission, and we will pursue it with purpose.
In a few days, I will reveal my plans for Trailblazers 4.0. Suffice it to say, no Indian media house has attempted anything as ambitious. The conclave will be the biggest—and perhaps the best ever—lasting four days. We hope to help chart the narrative for Indian sport in what promises to be an unprecedented year, with multiple World Cups and World Championships all taking place.
Trailblazers 2025, held in Kolkata from March 6-8, 2025, was a huge success. With cricketers and Olympic and Paralympic champions all under one roof, it resulted in meaningful dialogue, with athletes wanting to return year after year.
Sample this from Gopichand: “I enjoy coming to Trailblazers because it gives me an opportunity to speak to young athletes from other sports in a relaxed environment. Not just on stage—the off-stage interactions are just as important, for we rarely get these opportunities to engage with each other.”
Rani Rampal said the same: “It has become an annual engagement for me and is something I have started to look forward to. You get to learn a lot, meet colleagues from across sports, and go deeper into Indian sport. It is an excellent conclave in every sense.”
We are all living the RevSportz dream—one that aims to enrich Indian sport and, in doing so, make the fraternity better and more resilient. And in 2026, we will raise the bar even further and disrupt in many ways, some of which will be revealed on December 1.
For me personally, it is a deeply satisfying feeling. We finally have a platform where sport is at the core. Athletes’ stories from across disciplines are given their due importance. Journalists enjoy what they do, and cover sport from the ground. And 2026 will only get bigger and better.
And yes—it’s natun gurer mishti time on December 1!
