Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians (MI) captain, commended Shubman Gill for his exceptional performance in the Qualifier 2 game, which in turn propelled the Gujarat Titans (GT) to the summit clash of IPL 2023. Rohit also playfully alluded to the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final, expressing hope that Gill would replicate his remarkable displays in the future matches.
Gill, opening the innings for GT, showcased his brilliance by scoring his third century of the IPL 2023 season, accumulating an impressive 129 runs off just 60 deliveries. His innings played a pivotal role in Gujarat’s imposing total of 233 runs and ultimately led them to victory.
“All the bowling teams have been challenged this season; looking at what happened in the previous game, we had a great performance. Got to give credit to Shubman; he is in great form, and I hope he continues that,” Rohit Sharma said in the post match presentation.
