According to former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar, Gujarat Titans (GT) are the strongest team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. However, his personal sentiment leans towards Chennai Super Kings (CSK) winning the title in honor of the legendary MS Dhoni. Gavaskar openly acknowledged that CSK holds the second spot in his list of favourite IPL teams, following his hometown side, the Mumbai Indians (MI).
“Chennai Super Kings have always been my second favourite team apart from the Mumbai Indians. My heart wants CSK to win because the fact that MS Dhoni is able to win it one more time would be fantastic. Proving once again that calm, cool decision-making can make a difference. Having said that, Gujarat Titans have been the best team. They have got a terrific opener in Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya,” Gavaskar told Sports Today.
The defending champions, Gujarat, captained by Hardik Pandya, will square off against the four-time champions, Chennai, led by Dhoni, in the all-important IPL 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 28th.
