Faheem Ashraf, the seam bowling all-rounder, has replaced Mohammad Nawaz in Pakistan’s Playing XI for their Asia Cup Super 4s fixture against Bangladesh at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Faheem, who made his return to ODI cricket during the recent series between Pakistan and Afghanistan, has earned his place in the playing XI for this crucial Super 4s encounter because of how expensive Nawaz was in the rain-hit abandoned match against India. This means that Shadab Khan will be the lone specialist spinner in the side.
Pakistan, the tournament’s hosts, kicked off their Asia Cup campaign with a dominant 238-run victory over Nepal. Following that, they shared points with their arch-rivals, India, as rain in Pallekele prevented them from chasing the 267-run target that had been set.
