All eyes were on featherweight title defending champion Sanjeet Budhwar when he was in action in the Matrix Fight Night’s main event against Shyamanand at a packed Noida Indoor Stadium on Saturday, October 28.
After five entertaining rounds, Sanjeet was declared the winner via a split decision. He landed heavy face blows on Shyamanand throughout the bout. After this, Sanjeet will face The Afghan Lion, Abdul Azim Badakhshi in the main event of one of the upcoming editions of MFN for the featherweight title.
Speaking of other fights, Kyrgyzstan’s Darkhanbek Ergeshov won against India’s Jason Solomon in the welterweight category in the first round after 2 minutes 26 seconds. Satyam Kumar registered a victory against Jatin Choudhary by technical knockout in the featherweight category. In flyweight, Arshiyan Memon came out victorious over Nongmaithem Bonjovi by technical knockout. In the straw-weight category, Sonam Zomba knocked out Rashmi Jain via another technical knockout in the first round, after 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
Another fight that the fans were eager to see was between Badakhshi against Hae Jin Park of Korea in the featherweight category. Badakhshi defeated Park in the first round in just 18 seconds via a knockout. And now, he has the record for one of the fastest knockouts in MFN history.
