Pat Cummins, the ICC World Cup-winning captain of Australia, has secured a hefty deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. After sparking a bidding war in Dubai on Tuesday, Cummins emerged as the costliest buy in the IPL history, fetching a whopping sum of Rs. 20.5 crore.
Commencing his IPL journey with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014, Cummins briefly played for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2017 before rejoining the KKR in 2020. Cummins, who received Rs. 15.5 crore in 2020 from KKR, was acquired again by the Knight Riders in the 2022 mega auction for Rs. 7.5 crore. He missed the 2023 edition in order to manage his workload.
