With just four days remaining until India’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers 2026 clash against Afghanistan, there’s buzz surrounding Afghanistan’s latest addition to their squad, 16-year-old winger Amin Nabizada.
Amin, a rising star, has been called up to the Afghanistan national team for the upcoming matches against India. Currently plying his trade for the Watford reserves in the UK Development league, he has already made waves with seven goals to his name. Prior to joining Watford, Amin showcased his talent at Brentford.
His breakthrough moment came when he made it to the first-team bench for the FA Cup fourth round replay against Southampton in February 2024.
Afghanistan’s squad for the double-header against India leans towards youth, with most players under 30 years of age. Apart from Zohib Islam Amiri and Sharif Mukhammad, the entire squad falls into this age bracket.
