As a part of this partnership, RevSportz and GLA will be co-producing a video series titled “GameChangers-Celebrating our Paralympians”, that will profile the stories of
8 (Eight) Indian Paralympians, including Devendra Jhajharia (legendary Indian paralympic javelin thrower and current President, Paralympic Committee of India), Manasi Joshi (Badminton), Palak Kohli (Badminton), Suhas Yathiraj (Badminton), Bhavina Patel (Table Tennis), Sumit Antil (Javelin Throw), Yogesh Kathuniya (Discus Throw) and Shailesh Kumar (High Jump). While there have been video series and stories profiling Paralympic athletes before this, what is unique about this video series is that it aims to inform different stakeholders in Indian society, including corporates, sports administrators and marketers, and social enterprises about the off-field support that these athletes have received, the challenges they have transcended to represent India at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 08, and their wishlist in terms of what they expect from India, beyond the Paralympic Games.
In addition, GLA and RevSportz will be hosting a Webinar on the Topic “From Tokyo to Paris-Has there been any change in India’s Approach and Attitude to the Paralympics?”, which will explore and touch upon issues concerning the state of paralympic sport in India, including the extent of CSR, Corporate Sponsorship and Governmental Support for the Indian Paralympics Contingent, discuss and offer novel financing mechanisms that can turbocharge India’s Paralympics movement, as well as offer paralympic athletes with opportunities to earn sustainable livelihoods so that they can lead their lives with dignity.
