The 2025 IPL mega auction would be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25, the BCCI has confirmed. RevSportz broke the story on Tuesday evening that in a last-minute change, the venue has been shifted from Riyadh to Jeddah. It is learnt that the franchises have been notified in this regard, that Abady Al Johar Arena would be the auction venue.

Interestingly, though, the IPL auction clashes with India’s first Test against Australia in Perth that commences from November 22. At the auction, 10 IPL teams are set to spend Rs 641.5 crore on 204 available slots.

This time the auction is going to be a high-profile affair, with stars like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh, Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Mitchell Starc and Kagiso Rabada going under the hammer. A total of 46 players have been retained by the 10 franchises with a cumulative purse of Rs 558.5 crore.

Of late, the IPL has been taking the player auction outside India to tap into new markets. Last year, it was held in Dubai.
