Ranji Trophy Round 5: Draws, Dramatic Wins, and Dominant Displays

Day four of the Ranji Trophy Round Five brought a mix of strong performances and decisive results. The matches between Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, as well as Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka, concluded in draws. However, Saurashtra showcased exceptional bowling to defeat Chandigarh by an innings and 59 runs.

Meanwhile, Mumbai secured a convincing victory over Services, delivering solid performances with both the bat and ball. Moreover, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Siddesh Lad remained unbeaten on 55 and 73, respectively, guiding their team to victory. Tamil Nadu also dominated, outplaying Railways as R Sonu Yadav and S Ajith Ram picked up four wickets each.

Gujarat held on for a dramatic draw against Vidarbha, while the Delhi versus Jharkhand match also ended without a result despite standout knocks from Ayush Badoni (205) for Delhi and Kumar Kushagra (156) for Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, Bengal edged out Madhya Pradesh in a nail-biter, winning by 11 runs, with Mohammed Shami’s three wickets boosting the veteran pacer’s confidence. Kerala versus Haryana, Hyderabad versus Andhra, and Assam versus Chhattisgarh matches all ended in draws, but Jammu and Kashmir secured a four-wicket win over Tripura.

Himachal Pradesh outclassed Puducherry, winning by an innings and 17 runs, thanks to a strong bowling display. Similarly, Punjab dominated Bihar, with Baltej Singh and Gurnoor Brar taking four and five wickets respectively, leaving Bihar with no chance of recovery.
