The JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals entered the TATA WPL 2025 Mini Auction with a budget of INR 2.5 crore, aiming to fill four slots. They successfully secured wicketkeepers Nandini Kashyap and Sarah Bryce, all-rounder N Charani, and young talent Niki Prasad.
Reflecting on the auction, Sourav Ganguly, Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals (WPL), expressed satisfaction:
“It was a very good auction for us. I’ve been with this team for two seasons, closely watching and participating in the auction process. Compared to last year, we now have a stronger squad. Adding Nandini and Sarah gives us a really balanced lineup.”
The Capitals were searching for a backup wicketkeeper and made their first purchase with Nandini Kashyap for INR 10 lakhs. The 21-year-old, who recently amassed 247 runs at a strike rate of 125.40 in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy for Uttarakhand, was a valuable addition.
Ganguly shared his surprise at the bargain:
“We didn’t expect to get Nandini for just 10 lakhs. She was one of our targets, along with Simran and Kamalini. Securing both Nandini and Sarah Bryce at such prices was remarkable.”

The team then engaged in a bidding war with Mumbai Indians to acquire 20-year-old all-rounder N Charani for INR 55 lakhs. Charani featured in nine matches for the Gujarat Giants last season. To further strengthen their wicketkeeping options, Delhi signed Scotland’s Sarah Bryce for INR 10 lakhs. Bryce boasts an impressive record of 1,290 runs in 58 WT20i matches.
Concluding their auction, Delhi Capitals added 19-year-old Niki Prasad from Karnataka for INR 10 lakhs. Recently appointed as captain of the U19 team for the inaugural Women’s U19 Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur, Prasad is considered a rising star.
With these strategic additions, the Delhi Capitals’ roster now features a well-rounded squad, including Indian talents Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma, and international stars like Meg Lanning, Marizanne Kapp, and Jess Jonassen.
