In a one-sided final, Team C defeated Team B by 6 wickets to win the Mumbai Indians Junior Boys Rising Stars Tournament in Nagpur on Saturday. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Team B struggled to form any solid partnerships and lost wickets at crucial moments. Only Yash Pawar (46) and Darshan Thorkar (31) provided some resistance, preventing them from being dismissed for a much lower total than 143. On the bowling front, Team C’s captain A V Patel led the charge with excellent figures of 3 for 27, supported by Siddharth Gupta (2/22), Yajat Anturkar (2/21), and Anshit (2/24).
Chasing just 144 runs for the title, Team C made a strong start with openers Dhairya Armorikar and Nirmik Charde putting on 101 runs for the first wicket. Both fell short of half-centuries, with Dhairya dismissed for 49 and Nirmik for 43. Although Prajwal Shukla took two quick wickets for Team B, it was too late as Team C comfortably secured the victory, claiming the Mumbai Indians Junior Rising Star Title.
In the Girls’ Final, Team B claimed a dominant 7-wicket win over Team A to secure the MI Junior Rising Star Title. Batting first, Team A lost two early wickets but Nishka Meshram and Aliza Anthony formed a vital 68-run partnership. Meshram’s excellent half-century helped Team A reach a total of 119 runs in 20 overs. In response, Team B chased down the target easily, with skipper Veera Donode top-scoring with an unbeaten 54, supported by Rashi Shah’s unbeaten 20.
