India is poised to make history by hosting its first-ever World Para Athletics Grand Prix, a landmark event set to take place from 11th to 13th March 2025 at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. With over 90 competitions spanning three days, the Grand Prix will feature top para-athletes from 20 countries, including powerhouse nations like Germany, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and many more.

The event will showcase the best in global para-athletics and place India at the center of this exciting sporting landscape.

The Grand Prix is a significant milestone in India’s sporting history, and it will be graced by key figures such as Mr. Majid Rashed, the President of the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC), and Tarek Souei, the CEO of the APC.

Other prominent sports dignitaries from the Indian sports ecosystem will also be in attendance, underscoring India’s growing stature in the world of para-sports. The event will also serve as a platform for future international competitions, reinforcing the country’s commitment to inclusivity and excellence in athletics.

Devendra Jhajharia, the President of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), expressed his excitement for the historic occasion: “Hosting the Grand Prix in India is a testament to our nation’s dedication to para-sports. While many renowned athletes, such as Sumit Antil, Yogesh Kathuniya, Simran Vats, Sachin Khilari, and Sailesh Kumar, will not be participating, a notable participant is Ravi Rongali, the Paralympian and silver medalist at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. Rongali will compete in the F40 Shot Put event, a competition that is eagerly anticipated by fans.

Ravi Rongali shared his excitement about the event: “I am very happy because India is organizing the very first New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix, which is going to be held on March 11th to 13th at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. It Feels great to compete on home ground, and I am also preparing really well for this competition. I am eagerly waiting for the competition day battle.”
