In the ongoing match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, IPL 2025. There were these sweet moments between two Indian legends, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. The pair, widely considered good friends in the national side, had an amusing banter while on the field, symbolising the mutual respect that exists among the world’s best cricketers.
There were a few milestones and performances that made the first innings even more exciting. Kohli created history by entering the IPL 13,000 runs club, really earning a spot among the top scorers in the history of the format. The RCB stalwart played exceptionally for his 67-run knock.
On the bowling front, Bumrah made a decent comeback into the competition from injury following back strain caused by his efforts in the Border Gavaskar Trophy during the start of the year. Bumrah produced a spell of four overs from which he conceded 29 runs at an economy rate of 7.25.

A highly competitive environment is showcased in the points table as the season of IPL 2025 goes by. RCB is right now in the third position, having won two out of their three matches. On the contrary, MI stands at the eighth position, as they have managed only one out of four played matches.
Such exchanges between players, even of such brief duration as those between Kohli and Bumrah, make the audience fortunate to have little glimpses of human beings in the sport, especially in the competitive atmosphere of a high pressure match.
