In a first, the Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in Abhishek Kumar Dalhor — an all-rounder for Majhi Mumbai in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) — as a net bowler for the ongoing 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The ISPL, a 10-over tennis-ball league, has quickly established itself as a crucial platform for aspiring cricketers across India to display their skills, while also strengthening the grassroots structure of the game.

It continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between street cricket and the professional stage, opening doors for talented players to pursue their dreams and compete at the highest level.

“This is a big accomplishment for me as a tennis-ball player. It’s a dream for every cricketer to contribute in some way or another to the success of such a big franchise,” Abhishek said in a video shared on his social media handles.
Known for his consistency, pace, and match-winning abilities, the 26-year-old has been a crucial player for the Amitabh Bachchan-owned side.

Hailing from a middle-class background, Abhishek has featured in numerous street cricket tournaments across the country. He is also the most expensive player in ISPL history and has been one of the standout performers in the league, playing a key role in helping his team clinch the Season 2 title.

Across two seasons, the Ambala-born cricketer has amassed 324 runs and claimed 33 wickets at an average of 10.12 in 19 matches. This earned him the Player of the Tournament Award in Season 1 and the Best Bowler of the Tournament in Season 2.
