Sai Sudharsan surpasses Chris Gayle during GT vs RR, Most Runs by an Indian after 30 IPL Innings

Sai Sudharsan produced another top knock for Gujarat Titans (GT) in today’s clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He scored 82 (53) as GT posted 217/6 in 20 overs. It turned out to be his third fifty in five games so far and he has been showing superb consistency for his franchise. His performances in the last nine IPL innings have been – 65(39), 84*(49), 6(14), 103(51), 74(41), 63(41), 49(36), 5(9) & 82(53).

While Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Nicholas Pooran leads the race for the Orange Cap with 288 runs. Sudharsan’s today’s performance has taken him to the second spot now with 273 runs. In between, he has now scored the most runs (1307) by an Indian after 30 IPL innings. He surpassed Chris Gayle (1141) in terms of overall and is now, in the second spot regarding the amount of runs scored after 30 IPL innings. Former Australian batter, Shaun Marsh is at the top with 1338 runs.  

Sai Sudharsan continues to shine in Ahmedabad

The home ground of GT, the Narendra Modi Stadium has been a happy hunting ground for Sudharsan. Today’s knock turned out to be his fourth-highest score at the venue. His top three knocks at this venue have been 103 (51) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2024, 96 (47) vs CSK in IPL 2023, and 84* (49) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the last season. 

Even, in this season so far, including today, GT have played three games and in every match, Sai has scored a fifty each. In three matches, Sai Sudharsan has scored 219 runs. Hence, it seemed that Sudharsan has utilised the home advantage fully while batting and set the stage for his team every time while playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
