Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 25th match of the IPL 2025 in Chennai by an emphatic margin of eight wickets, with 59 balls to spare.
Here are the top three highlights from today’s CSK vs KKR clash in the IPL 2025
KKR’s Tight Bowling
Except for Vaibhav Arora, none of the KKR bowlers had an economy rate above six runs per over. This stat alone highlights KKR’s bowling dominance today. While Sunil Narine was the star of the show with three wickets, others also chipped in with valuable contributions. Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy took two wickets each, and Arora and Moeen Ali took one wicket apiece.

Narine’s All-Round Performance
Sunil Narine was undoubtedly the star performer with a stellar all-round show. With the ball, he claimed three key wickets, while with the bat he built two crucial partnerships — a 46-run stand with Quinton de Kock, followed by a 39-run partnership with captain Ajinkya Rahane — that nearly sealed the match for KKR. Narine’s bowling figures were an impressive 3/13 with an economy rate of just 3.25. With the bat, he smashed 44 runs off just 18 balls at a strike rate of 244.44, including two fours and five sixes.
Disappointing Return for Dhoni the Captain
MS Dhoni returned as captain of CSK, and fans hoped this change would reverse the team’s fortunes. However, that wasn’t to be, as CSK suffered their fifth consecutive loss. Chepauk no longer seems to be their fortress. The team must regroup and rethink their strategies — or it might soon be game over for their playoff hopes.
