Glenn Phillips, who was picked up for ₹2 crore in the auction by Gujarat Titans (GT), was injured during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6. Now as reported by the ESPNCricinfo, The New Zealand all-rounder has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL 2025 for a groin injury. But, now, GT have to look for a replacement and for that, some names can be considered.
Here are the three players who can replace Glenn Phillips in GT for the remainder of the IPL 2025
Daryl Mitchell
Daryl Mitchell went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. He had a good season with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) last year, scoring 318 runs from 13 matches at an average of 28.91 and a strike rate of 142.60, which included two half-centuries. Though he had a lean T20I series against Pakistan, he can be a handy batter for GT, and he is also a reliable fielder.
Jonny Bairstow
In the IPL, the England wicketkeeper-batsman, Jonny Bairstow has scored 1,589 runs from 50 matches at an average of 34.54 and a strike rate of 144.45. His tally includes two hundreds, and nine fifties, including 166 fours and 69 sixes. His partnership with David Warner was one of the key factors in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Michael Bracewell
Bracewell, who captained New Zealand in the recently concluded series against Pakistan at home, could also be a suitable replacement for his fellow countryman Glenn Phillips. Bracewell is a handy contributor with both bat and ball and has performed well on Indian pitches in international matches. He has already played in IPL for Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier.
