Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at their home ground on Match number 27 of the IPL 2025. PBKS put up a huge total of 245/6 in their 20 overs — their second-highest score ever. PBKS started strong, as Mohammed Shami, the opening bowler for SRH, conceded 14 runs in his first over. Harshal Patel took four wickets, but no other SRH bowler could make an impact. None of the SRH bowlers had an economy rate of less than 10, which shows the dominance of the PBKS batters.

Shami, who was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10 crore to be their strike bowler, is having a very poor IPL so far. Today, he set an unwanted record by becoming the most expensive Indian bowler in IPL history, conceding 75 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket. In the final over of the PBKS innings, Shami gave away 27 runs.

Harshal picked up the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, who was the star of the PBKS batting lineup. He also dismissed Priyansh Arya, who had played a blistering innings in the last match and was performing well again today. Harshal also removed Shashank Singh and Glenn Maxwell, finishing with figures of 4/42.
