Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are taking on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in the 34th match of IPL 2025 on April 18.
The match was shortened to 14 overs due to rain. PBKS won the toss and opted to field first. Then came Arshdeep Singh, the opening bowler for PBKS, who removed both RCB openers cheaply. On the fourth ball of the first over, Phil Salt went for a big shot and ended up giving a catch to Josh Inglis. Salt scored four runs off four balls. In the fourth ball of the third over, Virat Kohli attempted a pull shot but was caught by Marco Jansen. Kohli managed just one run off three balls. Arshdeep bowled three overs, conceding 23 runs and taking two wickets, with an economy rate of 7.70.
The RCB innings collapsed like a house of cards, with only two partnerships reaching double digits, highlighting the dominance of the PBKS bowlers. Only Tim David managed to score a fifty, helping RCB reach 95/9. Tim scored 50 off 26 balls striking at 192.30 that includes five fours and three sixes. Marco Jansen, Yuzvendra Chahal, Harpreet Brar, and Arshdeep all took two wickets each. Xavier Bartlett got one wicket.
This was a top-of-the-table clash and a crucial match for both teams, as the winner would move into the top two positions.
