He surpassed the previous records held by David Warner, who reached 5,000 runs in 135 innings, and Virat Kohli, who did so in 157 innings.
Rahul’s steady innings of 57 off 42 balls was key to the Delhi Capitals’ successful chase of 160, leading them to an eight-wicket win over LSG. One of the hallmarks of his innings was that he never looked to press the panic button. Batting at number 3, Rahul anchored the run-chase.
