Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are all set to take on five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 52nd match of IPL 2025 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, there is a high probability that rain could play spoilsport and potentially deny fans the chance to witness the much-anticipated Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni clash in Bengaluru.
Weather Forecast and Rain Chances on 3 May Ahead of RCB vs CSK
A day before this high-stakes encounter, Bengaluru had already experienced heavy rain and thunderstorms. According to AccuWeather.com, thunderstorms and rain are expected to continue on 3 May, particularly during the evening.

The forecast indicates partly sunny conditions with thunderstorms in parts of the area during the afternoon, with a 44% probability of precipitation. In the evening, conditions are expected to be cloudy with thunderstorms in some areas, with a 43% probability of precipitation. There is also a 26% chance of thunderstorms specifically forecasted.
Rain and thunderstorms are particularly expected around 5 PM, 8 PM, and 9 PM, and the match is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.

What Happens if the RCB vs CSK Match Gets Called Off Due to Rain?
If the match is abandoned due to rain, both teams will be awarded one point each. For RCB, this point could be crucial in the race for a playoff spot. For CSK, it won’t make much of a difference, as they are already officially out of the playoff race.
With that one point, RCB would move back to the top of the table with 15 points in 11 games, overtaking Mumbai Indians (MI), who currently have 14 points in 11 games.
