East Bengal coach Oscar Bruzon has asked the club management and the company, Emami, to completely revamp the set up, which includes a completely new set of foreigners, sources have confirmed. Bruzon was livid at the insipid performance in Bhubaneshwar during the Super Cup and has now cracked the whip.
A source close to the developments confirmed the fact stating that the management and the Emami officials are in sync with Bruzon, which means that Crespo, Diamantakos and the rest are all going to be released by East Bengal FC.
Since the CM of West Bengal urged the club officials to make a far more competitive team this year, there was a meeting between club officials and the company and it has now been decided that East Bengal has to be far more competitive for the sake of their millions of fans. That’s when they asked Bruzon to give them a wish list, one they will follow while going out and recruiting players.
It has also been decided that the coaches word is supreme and no one will really interfere with this list. In accordance with Oscar’s suggestion, Miguel from Basundhara Kings is East Bengal’s target at the moment. “No, the signing hasn’t happened yet but it is true that the club is determined to close the deal at the earliest and finalise the signing. Talks are at an advanced level”, confirmed the source.
It is now to be seen if Oscar Bruzon can indeed resurrect East Bengal and turn it into a really competitive outfit in 2025-26.
