Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have brought in promising all-rounder Harsh Dubey as a replacement for the injured Smaran Ravichandran for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.

Smaran, a 22-year-old batter from Karnataka, had initially joined SRH as a replacement for Adam Zampa. With Smaran now ruled out, Harsh—who remained unsold at the IPL 2025 auction—has been drafted into the squad at a contract worth Rs 30 lakh, following an impressive showing in trials.

A left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder, Harsh has been in the spotlight thanks to an outstanding domestic season, where he bagged 69 wickets and scored over 400 runs while playing a key role in Vidarbha’s title-winning campaign in 2024-25. In List A cricket, he has taken 21 wickets in 20 innings at an average of 34.66. In T20s, he has picked up 9 wickets from 16 innings, maintaining a respectable economy rate of 6.78. Known for his big-hitting ability lower down the order, he adds depth to SRH’s squad.

Harsh joins the side at a challenging time, with SRH struggling in ninth place on the points table. After finishing runners-up in IPL 2024, they have managed just three wins in ten games this season. Even a clean sweep in their final four matches would only take them to 14 points, meaning their playoff hopes now rely heavily on other teams slipping up.
