Team India is preparing for their upcoming Test series against England, which begins on June 20. In this series, all eyes will be on Karun Nair, who might make a special comeback if he gets a chance in the playing XI for the first game.
The cricketer has returned to the Test format for India after seven years. With the entire Indian cricket community congratulating him on his comeback, Nair himself shared his journey in a special video released by the BCCI.
“It feels really special, very grateful and very fortunate to be able to get this opportunity again, and really looking forward and excited to grab this opportunity with both hands,” he said.
Sharing his thoughts through the video, Nair described it as a special feeling to rejoin the Indian team.
“I think I’ll have to experience that feeling myself and, you know, just go out there and feel it for myself. I’m sure there’ll be a lot of feelings—ones that I can’t express right now—and it’ll be a special feeling,” he further added.

KL Rahul’s heartfelt welcome message to Karun Nair
Besides Nair sharing his comeback story, KL Rahul also appeared in the video with a heartfelt message for his teammate, reflecting on how special it is to have him back in the squad after such a long time.
“I’ve known him for a very long time, and the months that he spent here in the UK playing cricket, and how hard and how lonely it was—and for him to be able to do all of that and come back into the Indian team—I think is special for him, for his family, and for friends like us who’ve seen his journey. So, like I said, very inspiring as well. And hopefully, his experience and his learnings from playing county cricket here will hold him in good stead, and he plays the best matches here,” Rahul said about Nair.
