Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich began their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a thumping 10-0 win over Auckland City. Jamal Musiala scored a hat-trick, while Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman, and Michael Olise netted two goals each. Sacha Boey also got on the scoresheet. It was complete dominance from the Bundesliga side. After the win, head coach Vincent Kompany seemed happy with the performance and claimed that the “goal difference might end up being important in this group.” Bayern and Auckland are in Group C, alongside Boca Juniors and Benfica.

Despite the humiliating defeat, Auckland City’s interim coach Ivan Vicelich said he was proud of his players, stating: “I’m proud of the players. They worked hard. It was a tough game. We played against one of the best teams in the world. They’re also a favourite to win the tournament. Our boys gave their all.”
