The schedule for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has been officially released. The tournament will begin on 30 September 2025 in Bengaluru. It will be a 50-over event played across five cities in two countries—India and Sri Lanka. The chosen venues are Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo.

India to Open the Tournament Against Sri Lanka

India will play the first match of the tournament against co-hosts Sri Lanka. This match will take place in Bengaluru on 30 September. One of the most awaited matches, India vs Pakistan, is set to be played on 5 October in Colombo.

Due to political tensions between the two countries, the BCCI and PCB agreed on a hybrid model. As per the agreement, Pakistan will play all their matches in Colombo. This means all other teams, including India, must travel to Sri Lanka to play against them.

India’s League Matches Across Cities

After the match against Pakistan, India will travel to Vizag. They will face South Africa there on 9 October. Three days later, on 12 October, India will play against Australia, the defending champions, also in Vizag.

Then, India will head to Indore. They will play against England there on 19 October. India’s last two league matches will be against New Zealand in Indore and against Bangladesh on 26 October in Bengaluru.

With this schedule, India will play matches at all five venues during the league stage.

Tournament Format and Knockout Rounds

The tournament will follow a single round-robin format. All teams will face each other once. After the group stage, the top four teams will move to the semi-finals.

The first semi-final is scheduled for 29 October. It will be held in either Guwahati or Colombo, depending on whether Pakistan qualifies. The second semi-final will take place in Bengaluru on 30 October.

The final will be played on 2 November. It will be hosted either in Colombo or Bengaluru, again depending on Pakistan’s qualification.

Warm-up Games to Begin on 24 September

Teams will play two warm-up matches each from 24 September. India will take on England, the 2022 runners-up, in Bengaluru on that day. Three days later, India will face South Africa in Guwahati.
