The Junior Cricket Committee has announced changes to the India U19 squad for their upcoming tour of England, scheduled from June 24 to July 23, 2025.
D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak, who were initially named in the standby list, have been promoted to the main squad as replacements. Deepesh comes in for Aditya Rana, while Naman replaces Khilan Patel. The changes were made after Aditya suffered a stress fracture in his lower back, and Khilan developed a stress reaction in his right leg during the ongoing high-performance camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Despite the setbacks, the squad remains strong and is packed with exciting young talent. Ayush Mhatre, who impressed for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025, will lead the team. Wicket-keeper batter Abhigyan Kundu has been named vice-captain.
The tour will kick off on June 24
All eyes will be on 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has already made headlines with his explosive batting in IPL 2025. He scored 252 runs in seven matches at a remarkable strike rate of 206.56, including a stunning century off just 38 balls.
The tour will kick off with a warm-up 50-over match at Loughborough University Stadium on June 24. The five-match ODI series will begin on June 27 in Hove, followed by two multi-day games to be held in Beckenham and Chelmsford.
