South Africa Women defeated West Indies Women in the third and final ODI to clinch the three-match series 2-1. In the decider, Tazmin Brits was named Player of the Match for her blistering 101 off 91 balls. With a total of 184 runs in the series—including 57 (65) in the first ODI and 26 (54) in the second—she was also named Player of the Series.

Brits’ opening partnership with Laura Wolvaardt gave South Africa a perfect start, adding 184 runs in just 26.1 overs. They eventually posted a total of 278. While the openers laid the foundation, it was Masabata Klaas who stole the show with the ball, returning figures of 4/25. Nonkululeko Mlaba and Annerie Dercksen also chipped in with two wickets each.

Brits and Wolvaardt Record South Africa’s Tied-Fifth-Highest WODI Partnership

In what was a must-win match for both sides, the visitors delivered under pressure, mainly thanks to the massive 184-run stand between Brits and Wolvaardt. The partnership turned out to be South Africa’s tied-fifth-highest in Women’s ODIs. Marizanne Kapp further carried the momentum in the innings with a steady 34 off 42 balls.

In response, the West Indies Women got off to a poor start, with their top six batters failing to make any impact. They were reduced to 40 for 6 and never recovered, eventually getting bowled out for just 121. Aaliyah Alleyne (32) and Jahzara Claxton (43) were the only notable contributors in an otherwise disappointing chase.
