In celebration of Olympic Day 2025, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has joined hands with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation and Reliance Foundation to bring back the “Let’s Move” campaign in a renewed format called “Let’s Move +1”. Taking place on 23 June, the initiative urges people across India to celebrate movement, togetherness, and the positive impact of sport on physical and mental health.

This year’s theme promotes the idea of moving in pairs—whether with a friend, sibling, colleague, or family member—emphasising that exercise becomes more enjoyable and sustainable when shared. More than 50 venues across the country will host free public sessions in sports such as cricket, football, badminton, padel, and pickleball. Everyone is welcome—just bring a “+1” and join the movement.

The campaign addresses a pressing issue: around 50% of Indian adults and 81% of youth globally are not getting enough physical activity, according to a 2024 World Health Organization (WHO) report. Participating in group activities can motivate people to stay active, build community, and fight loneliness—a growing public health concern.

The Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) will also play a key role. Through collaborations with the governments of Chandigarh, Odisha, and Assam, the Abhinav Bindra Foundation has already impacted more than 10 million schoolchildren by promoting physical activity, inclusivity, and learning. This summer, over 12 million children from these regions are expected to participate in paired yoga, group dance, and sports like kho-kho, volleyball, cricket, and football. Olympic-themed arts and crafts activities will also be held on 23 June.

Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, also a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission, highlighted how campaigns like these foster mutual support, connection, and purpose through sport: “Let’s Move +1 carries the spirit forward, reminding us that sport is not just about physical strength—it is about fostering connection, mutual support, and a shared sense of purpose.”

The Reliance Foundation will activate its network of schools with “Let’s Move” activities and host a special event where 1,450 students will celebrate Olympic Day alongside Olympians, including archers Atanu Das and Deepika Kumari.

Kumari reflected on the role sport has played in her life, saying: “It’s given me strength, taught me resilience, and opened opportunities… I am excited to pay it forward by inviting young people to move with me, and share everything that sport brings.”

“Let’s Move” was first launched on Olympic Day 2023 in collaboration with the WHO. Since then, it has reached over 20 million people in India. This year’s campaign reinforces the IOC’s mission to make the world a healthier place through sport. Even beyond Olympic Day, the IOC aims to keep people inspired through ongoing activations, resources, and content.
