A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical department official confirmed on 21 June that the Bangladesh pace trio of Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman are now available to play. All three fast bowlers have returned to training ahead of the two intra-squad practice matches in Chattogram, scheduled for 23 and 25 June.
The trio had been sidelined from competitive cricket due to their respective injuries. However, the BCB official informed Cricbuzz that they are yet to receive full clearance for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka. A final decision will be made after the intra-squad games in Chattogram.
“Yes, they have bowled at full pace, but at the same time we need to understand that they are returning from injuries. So, we need to assess their fitness levels in the context of match readiness. We can only confirm their availability for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka after the two practice games. At the moment, they have not reported any discomfort after bowling with full intensity,” the official told Cricbuzz.

Mustafizur has recovered from a thumb injury sustained during IPL 2025, which ruled him out of the entire T20I series against Pakistan. Taskin, meanwhile, is recovering from an ankle injury, while Shoriful missed the third and final T20I against Pakistan due to a muscle injury. The trio have been receiving individual medical care as part of their rehabilitation.
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are set to face off in a three-match ODI series scheduled for 2, 5, and 8 July in Colombo, with the final ODI to be played in Pallekele. The tour will then move into a three-match T20I series, set to take place on 10, 13, and 16 July in Pallekele, Dambulla, and Colombo, respectively.
