India’s white-ball cricket tour of Bangladesh, originally scheduled for August 2025, has now been rescheduled to September 2026. The decision was taken following discussions between the two boards.

“This decision has been reached following discussions between the two boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams,” the BCCI said in a statement.

Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam also confirmed the change, stating, “The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course.”

Original Schedule and Importance of the Tour

In April 2025, the BCB had announced that India would play three ODIs on 17, 20, and 23 August, followed by three T20Is on 26, 29, and 31 August. Reportedly, the first two ODIs and the last two T20Is were planned to be held at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium, while the third ODI and the first T20I were scheduled to be played at Chattogram’s Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Cricket Stadium (formerly known as the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium).

“India have set the benchmark in international cricket across all formats, and the cricket-loving millions in both countries are sure to enjoy this contest,” said BCB Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.

With the tour postponed, India’s key players may now be available to participate in the Duleep Trophy in August.
