Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has been left out of the national squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, set to begin on 20 July at the Shere-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. Vice-captain Shadab Khan, who recently underwent shoulder surgery in the UK, has also been ruled out as he continues his rehabilitation.
Notably, senior players and former captains Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi have once again been overlooked by the selectors. Their absence is expected to continue into the T20I series against the West Indies as well.
Pace spearhead Haris Rauf has also been sidelined after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring strain during the ongoing 2025 season of Major League Cricket (MLC).
Hasan Ali, who was Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker with eight scalps in the recent home series against Bangladesh, remains unavailable due to County Championship duties in England.
The selectors have handed a maiden call-up to young fast bowler Salman Mirza, who made headlines with his performances for the Lahore Qalandars in this year’s PSL. Also returning to the squad are all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz and left-arm wrist spinner Sufyan Moqim.
Pakistan are set to arrive in Bangladesh on 16 July, with the T20I series to be played on 20, 22, and 24 July.
