Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series, which will feature matches against South Africa and New Zealand. Veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza will captain the side in what promises to be a challenging assignment on home turf.
The squad includes three uncapped players—Tafadzwa Tsiga (wicketkeeper-batter), Vincent Masekesa (leg-spinner), and Newman Nyamhuri (left-arm pacer), all of whom will be eager to make their international debuts. The bowling department is strengthened by the return of experienced left-arm seamer Richard Ngarava, who has recovered from a back injury. He will be joined by fellow pacer Blessing Muzarabani to form a formidable pace duo.
Several players have retained their spots following strong performances against Ireland in February by the Zimbabwe Cricket selectors. Ryan Burl, Tony Munyonga, and Tashinga Musekiwa have all been rewarded for their contributions and consistency. Additionally, Brian Bennett, a spin-bowling all-rounder who missed part of the recent Test series against South Africa due to a concussion, is back in the fold after being declared fit.
While Zimbabwe’s squad is relatively young, they will be determined to challenge two top-tier sides. Their campaign begins on 14 July against South Africa, followed by matches against New Zealand on 18 July, South Africa again on 20 July, and concludes against New Zealand on 24 July.
