Manchester United have finally received the green light from Brentford, as both clubs have agreed on a £70 million deal for the transfer of Bryan Mbeumo. According to The Athletic, Mbeumo is now all set to wear the famous Manchester United shirt from the upcoming season.

The Brentford right winger had only one club in mind — the Red Devils. United and Mbeumo had already agreed on personal terms a few weeks ago. The Cameroon international is expected to undergo a medical before United leave for their pre-season tour on Tuesday, 22 July.

Mbeumo is set to become United’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of forward Matheus Cunha and left-back Diego Leon.

At the start of June, United submitted an initial bid worth £55 million for the 25-year-old winger. After Brentford rejected that offer, United returned with a second bid of £62.5 million. Eventually, the Bees accepted United’s latest proposal — an initial £65 million, with an additional £5 million in add-ons, taking the potential total to £70 million.

Mbeumo had a fantastic Premier League season for Brentford last year. He scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in 38 matches. Only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak were more clinical in front of goal. Mbeumo ended the season with a shot conversion rate of 23.53%.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the contract at United will run until June 2030, with an option to extend by one more year, keeping him at the club until June 2031. United had always wanted this option included, and it has now been agreed.

The overall fee will be paid in four separate installments. Brentford have accepted the payment structure proposed by Manchester United.
