India’s para-badminton player Palak Kohli has climbed to World No. 3 in the SL4 category in Women’s Singles badminton — her highest career ranking to date. She shared a post about this milestone on her social media.
Earlier this year, she secured six medals — two gold, two silver, and two bronze — across singles, doubles, and mixed doubles at the Spanish Para-Badminton International Level 1 and 2 tournaments. She also clinched a bronze medal at the 2024 World Championships in Pattaya.
The 22-year-old has participated in two Paralympic Games. She was the youngest para-badminton player to represent India at the Tokyo Paralympics, where the sport made its debut.
On her Instagram profile, she wrote:
“World No. 3. So thrilled and grateful to share that I’ve achieved my career-best ranking in Women’s Singles – World Rank 3. This milestone is not just a number, but a reflection of the countless hours of sweat, sacrifice, and resilience. From the highs of victory to the lessons of every setback, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Forever grateful to God, my family, coaches, support team, and every single person who believed in me and stood by me through every phase of this ride.
Can’t wait to step back on court again – looking forward to a speedy recovery!
The journey continues – with more hunger, more fire, and more dreams to chase.”
Palak will next be seen in action at the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in France this August, followed by the 2026 Para Asian Games.
