England captain Ben Stokes played a brilliant knock in the ongoing fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Manchester. In the process, he made history by becoming the first England player—and only the third cricketer overall, after Garry Sobers and Jacques Kallis—to record over 7,000 Test runs along with more than 200 wickets. But this was not the first time, as he has played several brilliant knocks earlier in Manchester. Here is the list:

176 vs West Indies (2020)

In the second Test of the West Indies’ tour of England in 2020, England lost three wickets for just 81 runs in their first innings. Stokes then joined Dom Sibley to stitch together an extraordinary 260-run partnership, taking England to a commanding total. Stokes played a magnificent innings of 176 runs from 356 balls, including 17 fours and two sixes, and was named Player of the Match.

141 vs India (2025)

In the fourth Test of India’s tour of England in 2025, Stokes shared a crucial 142-run stand with Joe Root, putting England in a commanding position in the first innings. He scored 141 runs off 198 balls, hitting 11 fours and three sixes.

103 vs South Africa (2022)

In the second Test of South Africa’s tour of England in 2022, Stokes played yet another terrific knock, scoring 103 runs off 163 balls. Along with Ben Foakes, he guided England to a solid first-innings total of 415/9. His innings included six fours and three sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award.
