Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially confirmed that the sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be played from November 27 to December 23, 2025. The tournament will take place across three premier international venues: the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo, the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS) in Kandy, and the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS) in Dambulla.

Speaking on the scheduling, Samantha Dodanwela, Tournament Director of the LPL, said the decision to host the tournament during this window was made with a strategic purpose — “to align the tournament with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.”

Since its inaugural season in 2020, the LPL has established itself as Sri Lanka’s flagship domestic T20 competition, drawing both international and local talent. The league offers a critical platform for the country’s top first-class cricketers to showcase their skills alongside and against global stars.

Over the past five years, the LPL has evolved into a significant fixture in Sri Lanka’s cricketing calendar, contributing to player development and fan engagement. With its growing international appeal and a strong domestic base, LPL 2025 is expected to continue that upward trajectory.

Fans can now mark their calendars as Sri Lanka gears up for another season of high-octane franchise T20 cricket.
