The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially confirmed Dubai and Abu Dhabi as the venues for the upcoming T20 Asia Cup, which will be held from 9 to 28 September. A total of 19 matches are scheduled to be played across 19 days in September, as the continental tournament promises top-tier cricketing action.
While announcing the update, ACC President Mohsin Naqvi said, “ACC T20 Asia Cup venues and match timings are out! Looking forward to packed stadiums and some truly breath-taking encounters.”
The ACC’s media release stated: “With top Asian cricketing nations set to battle it out in one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year, the announcement marks a major step forward in the tournament’s preparations. From iconic stadiums to passionate fans, the stage is set for thrilling action across the continent.”
Eight qualified teams — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong — will be competing in the T20 format. A double-header is scheduled for 15 September, when UAE will take on Oman at 4:30 PM local time (6 PM IST), followed by Sri Lanka vs Hong Kong at 7:30 PM IST, which could cause an overlap in match timings.
India’s league matches are scheduled for 10 September (vs UAE), 14 September (vs Pakistan), and 19 September (vs Oman). If India and Pakistan top their group, they will meet again during the Super Fours on 21 September.
Though Sony Sports holds the broadcasting rights for the next eight years, the ACC is yet to finalise a production firm for the tournament.
