Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan, set to begin on August 8. Youngster Jediah Blades has been included, while Romario Shepherd returns to the side after missing the earlier series against Ireland and England.

After consecutive home T20I series defeats, first to Australia and then to Pakistan, the Men in Maroon will now shift focus to the ODI format.

Pace spearhead Alzarri Joseph has been granted an extended rest, as the selectors and management continue to carefully manage the workload of their all-format player.

Head Coach Daren Sammy highlighted both the challenges and opportunities the Pakistan side presents.

“Pakistan offers a different test as we continue our push for automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup,” Sammy said. “While qualifying remains our immediate focus, building a winning culture and strong team chemistry is key for long-term success.”

He added: “Facing higher ranked teams like Pakistan gives us a crucial chance to gain valuable ranking points and boost our position heading into the World Cup.”

The ODI series will take place at the iconic Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad, with matches scheduled for August 8, 10, and 12.

With three consecutive home ODI series wins under their belt, the Shai Hope-led squad will look to extend their streak against a formidable Pakistani side.

West Indies’ ODI Squad for Pakistan Series: Shai Hope (Captain), Jewel Andrew, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd.
