After losing the T20I series to Pakistan 2–1, West Indies fought back brilliantly to clinch the ODI series 2-1 after thrashing Pakistan by 202 runs in the decider in Trinidad. Shai Hope, with a dazzling century, and Jayden Seales, with stellar figures of 6-18, were the heroes for the Caribbean side.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to field. West Indies lost their first wicket very early, but then Evin Lewis and Keacy Carty shared a 47-run partnership. Lewis’s wicket brought Hope to the crease, and his innings not only gave West Indies some solidity but also took them to a good total.

Hope anchored the innings brilliantly. With Sherfane Rutherford, he had a partnership of 45 runs, while he added 64 with Roston Chase. When the sixth wicket fell for 184 in the 42nd over, Hope and Justin Greaves made sure they remained, smashing 110 runs off only 49 balls to take the score to 294.

Hope struck 10 fours and five sixes in his unbeaten 120 off only 94 balls, at a strike-rate of 127.66. Greaves made 43 not out off only 24 balls at a strike-rate of 179.17.

In reply, Pakistan’s innings fell like a pack of cards as Seales ran through the Pakistan top order. Salman Agha was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 30. Seales took his six-for in just 7.2 overs as Pakistan were skittled for 92. Hope was adjudged the Player of the Match, while Seales was awarded the Player of the Series for his brilliant performances that fetched him 10 wickets.
