Pakistan suffered a humiliating defeat against the West Indies in the final game of the three-match ODI series. They got bundled out for 92 while chasing 295 and lost the series as well. Now, after seeing such a horrific performance, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has expressed his concerns about the possible humiliation they could suffer when they face India in the upcoming Asia Cup.

While speaking on The Game Plan YouTube channel, Ali came up with a shocking prayer as he wished that only if India refuse to play against them in the Asia Cup due to political and diplomatic tensions, that could save the Men in Green from an on-field humiliation.

In the recently concluded World Championships of Legends (WCL) also, India Legends refused to play Pakistan Legends in both the group stage and the semi-final clash.

“I pray India refuse to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. Itni buri tarah maarenge na vo, ki aapki soch hai (They will beat us so badly you can’t even imagine),” he said.

The host of the show even went one step ahead by saying that Pakistan do not have any chance against Afghanistan either. In reply to that, Basit Ali said: “If we lose to Afghanistan, no one would care much in this country. But everyone goes mad the moment you lose to India.”

The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format from 9 September in the UAE.
