
Cricket Hong Kong, China, on Friday, 22 August, named a 20-member squad for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup. Yasim Murtaza has been appointed captain of the team, while star batter Babar Hayat has been named his deputy.
“We’re excited to announce that Team Hong Kong, China will head to the UAE for an Asia Cup preparation camp. The tour will feature a series of competitive matches and training sessions designed to fine-tune team strategies ahead of the prestigious ACC Asia Cup,” read an official statement from Cricket Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong team will arrive in the UAE on 24 August, where they will play preparation matches and undergo intensive training sessions in order to be fully prepared for the continental tournament.
Babar Hayat, Zeeshan Ali, Niazakat Khan, Ehsan Khan, and former captain Anshuman Rath are among the prominent players in the squad.
Hong Kong, China secured their place in the Asia Cup after successful run in the ACC Premier Cup 2024. They earned the Asia Cup berth by defeating Nepal in the third-place play-off.

Looking ahead to the tournament, newly appointed men’s team head coach Kaushal Silva emphasised:
