
Ravikumar Samarth is set to appear for Vidarbha in the upcoming Ranji Trophy. Samarth told Cricbuzz that he has got the NOC.
“I have taken the NOC from Uttarakhand and am waiting for the formalities,” Samarth said.
Samarth played for Uttarakhand last season, but before that, he appeared in all his matches for Karnataka. He made his debut in 2013.
Since then, he has played 95 First-class matches, and in 166 innings he has scored 6,157 runs at an average of 39.72, which includes 15 centuries and 35 half-centuries. His best score in First-class is 235. He has also played 71 List-A games, and in 68 innings he has scored 3,050 runs at an average of 49.19, including 10 centuries and 17 half-centuries, with the highest score of 192.
Samarth left Karnataka in the 2023–2024 season and joined Uttarakhand. He played one season there, scoring 649 runs in seven First-class games at an average of 54. He also featured in seven List-A and T20 matches, scoring 385 and 184 runs at an average of 55 and 30, respectively.
Before Samarth, Ganesh Satish and Karun Nair from Karnataka had played for Vidarbha. Satish played nine seasons for Vidarbha, while Nair played two seasons and made them Ranji Champions last season. However, this year Nair has again moved back to Karnataka.
