Team India bowler Khaleel Ahmed is quite impressed with fast bowler Mohammed Siraj’s performance in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. In an exclusive interview with RevSportz, the pacer spoke about their friendship and credited Siraj’s hard work for his success on the international stage.
“I was very happy for him as he is a very good friend of mine. I could feel how good it must feel to be able to live those moments. That must have been a dream for him as well,” Khaleel said.
Siraj played all five Test matches against England, showing resilience and grit. He led the pace attack and produced several memorable moments to be proud of.
He added, “As a fast bowler, the amount of effort and hard work it takes to run so fast, keep playing for 5 Tests and perform well on top of that, is outstanding.”
Siraj has lived a dream that many bowlers, including Khaleel, have dreamt of. “I can very well feel how happy his family must have felt for him. It’s a great feeling to see someone actualise the things you dream of and Siraj exactly did that,” he concluded.
In the England Test series, Siraj finished as the highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets in nine innings at an average of 32.43. He bowled a total of 185.3 overs in the series.
