
Pakistan will welcome South Africa for a cricket tour in October that includes Test matches, One-Day Internationals, and T20Is. This will mark the start of Pakistan’s journey in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The series starts on October 12 with two Test matches against the reigning World Test Championship winners. This will be South Africa’s first Test series in Pakistan after 2021.On that tour, the Proteas lost 2-0.
Once the red-ball matches are done, the focus will move to T20Is and ODIs. There will be three T20Is and as many ODIs. The ODI series will carry extra importance because it will be played in Faisalabad at the historic Iqbal Stadium. The venue has not hosted any50-over international since April 2008.
Welcoming the South African team, PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed Syed expressed his excitement about the tour. “We are looking forward to welcome South Africa for the opening series of our ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 campaign,” he said.
“The return of ODI cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years is a special moment. Iqbal Stadium holds a proud place in our cricketing history and we are excited to bring international cricket back to this part of the country,” added the official.
