India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has said that he wants to focus on his game rather than the things which are not in his control.

In a conversation with Mashable India he said: “I don’t think about. It’s all in the hands of selectors. The decisions are taken according to the team combination. I will do whatever I can.”

When the squad was announced for the Asia Cup 2025, Shubman Gill made a comeback to the team but Jaiswal was overlooked despite being in fantastic form. In this year’s IPL, the southpaw scored 559 runs in just 14 matches at an average of 43 and a strike rate of 159.71. His tally included six fifties with the best score of 75. Many experts believed that Jaiswal should have been given the chance in the team.

Jaiswal asserted that he wants to put in the hard yards and make more runs to be back in reckoning.

“When my time comes, things will fall into place. I just want to keep working on myself and keep working hard,” he added.

In his T20I career, Jaiswal has played 23 games, scoring 723 runs at an average of 36.15 and a strike rate of 164.31. His tally includes one century and five fifties with the best score of 100.

Jaiswal scored 411 runs in the recently finished Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England which included two hundreds, one in the opening test at Leeds and another in the last test that helped India to set a big target for England.
