Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said that it would even be difficult for Pakistan to compete with India in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2025. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ashwin added that Team India are doing well in almost all departments.

“If Pakistan even competes in this game, it’ll be an upset. From their point of view, I just want to see Saim Ayub score some runs instead of getting out first ball because he is a good cricketer. There aren’t too many concerns to address for India,” he said.

India beat Pakistan comfortably by seven wickets and 25 balls to spare in the group match played last Sunday, September 14.

Pakistan’s batter Sahibzada Farhan scored 40 runs but off 44 balls. Only Shaheen Shah Afridi played a good knock of unbeaten 33 off just 16 balls. Apart from them, no other batter could even cross the 20-run mark. They had no answer for Indian spinners, who picked up six wickets together.

In bowling, except for Saim Ayub, nobody could make a mark. India’s opener Abhishek Sharma started the innings in a destructive manner, while captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma showed maturity and stayed at the wicket to guide India to an easy victory.

Ashwin further said: “If I was India, I would want Pakistan to challenge them with the T20 World Cup around the corner.”

India won all their matches in the group stage to qualify for the Super Four with six points, while Pakistan beat Oman and UAE to make it through.
