There is always tension in an encounter between the two rivals, India and Pakistan. One such tense moment erupted in the super four clash of Asia Cup 2025, when there was a heated exchange between India’s opener Abhishek Sharma and Pakistan’s pacer Haris Rauf.

The verbal battle between Abhishek and Rauf went on throughout the fifth over, in which India scored 12 runs, but it boiled over after the final ball. Gill ended the over with a four, and then Abhishek said something to Rauf. The bowler did not hold back and replied back with a pointer finger to the left-handed batter and things got heated up. Shubman Gill also had a word or two with the bowler. Finally, the umpire Gazi Sohel came to separate the players.

Chasing 172 runs, Abhishek and Gill’s opening partnership of 105 runs off just 59 balls laid the foundation for a comfortable victory for India. Gill missed his half- century by three runs. His innings came in just 28 balls, including eight fours at a strike rate of 167.86.

Abhishek played a flamboyant knock of 74 runs in just 39 balls, including six fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 189.74. He was particularly strong on the leg side today with most of his boundaries coming in that region. Finally, India won the match by six wickets with seven balls to spare.
