Rajasthan Royals (RR) have parted ways with Dishant Yagnik before the next season of the Indian PremierLeague (IPL). The former wicketkeeper-batter of RR has been their fielding coach since 2018. He worked closely with Indian and overseas players.

Yagnik’s exit marks another big change for Rajasthan Royals after their disappointing IPL 2025 season. The team has made major changes. Rahul Dravid hasstepped down from the head coach’s role and Kumar Sangakkara will take charge again. Vikram Rathour and Shane Bond are expected to continue as the batting and bowling coaches.

Other than coaching the Royals, Yagnik is also active in domestic cricket. He serves as an assistant coach for the Jammu and Kashmir team where he played an important role in guiding them to the quarterfinals of the Ranji Trophy last season.

For Rajasthan Royals, the bigger challenge now is not only the coaching staff, but also the captaincy. According to reports, current captain Sanju Samson might leave the team, which means Sangakkara and the management will have to take tough decisions before next season.

Despite having talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel, the Royals struggled last season. Sangakkara will need to rebuild the team quickly. Royals ended their 2025 IPL campaign in the second last position, winning only four games out of 14.
